The Member of Parliament for Ho West Constituency and Board Chairman of GETFund, Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, has presented a cheque of GH¢300,000.00 to Abutia Senior High Technical School to support critical infrastructure projects, particularly the completion of a modern toilet facility for the girls’ dormitory.

The donation addresses inadequate sanitation facilities for female students, as highlighted in a request from the school management. During the presentation ceremony, Hon. Bedzrah expressed his commitment to improving learning conditions in his constituency.

In his remarks, the MP stated:

"I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the management of the Volta River Authority for their prompt and positive response to this appeal. Together, we will continue to invest in the wellbeing of our students and create conducive learning environments that empower the next generation."

The event was attended by Togbega Abutia Kodzo Gidi V, Paramount Chief of the Abutia Traditional Area and his elders, party executives, staff from the MP’s office, the Assembly Member for the area, and other key stakeholders committed to educational advancement in Ho West.

In addition to the cash donation, Hon. Bedzrah handed over 500 mono desks to the school as part of a broader initiative to distribute approximately 5,000 desks across senior high schools in the constituency, tackling furniture shortages and enhancing the teaching and learning environment.

This latest intervention underscores Hon. Bedzrah’s ongoing efforts to support education in Ho West, including previous infrastructure projects and resource provisions aimed at creating better opportunities for students.

The school authorities and community leaders welcomed the donation, viewing it as a significant boost to student welfare and infrastructure development. Such partnerships between public representatives, institutions like the Volta River Authority, and educational bodies are vital for building a stronger foundation for Ghana’s future leaders.
