Ketu South Secures 20-Acre Land at Hatiame for Proposed Composite Waste Recycling Plant

2 min read

The Municipal Chief Executive for Ketu South, Hon. Nicholas Ezo Worklatsi, alongside a delegation from the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, has inspected a 20-acre land acquisition at Hatiame, near the Lotakor area. The earmarked site is designated for the construction of a modern composite waste recycling plant aimed at modernizing sanitation infrastructure across the municipality.

The proposed facility is engineered to deliver a comprehensive solution to Ketu South's long-standing waste management challenges. By processing both liquid and solid municipal waste, the plant will divert significant volumes of refuse from indiscriminate dumping grounds, safeguarding local ecosystems and enhancing public health standards across neighboring communities.

In addition to its environmental benefits, the recycling plant is expected to serve as a major driver of local economic growth. The construction and operational phases will generate direct and indirect job opportunities for residents, while stimulating business activity and supporting supply chains within the municipality.

Speaking with Revival FM following the site inspection, Hon. Nicholas Ezo Worklatsi outlined the strategic rationale behind the project and assured community members of transparent communication as development plans progress. Municipal authorities expect the facility to mark a pivotal shift toward long-term environmental sustainability and economic resilience for Ketu South.
