2 min read

The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially approved the fee structure for aspirants contesting various national executive positions in its upcoming internal elections. The newly released schedule outlines financial requirements across 14 leadership roles, establishing the guidelines for candidates seeking to steer the party’s national administration and organizational activities.

At the top of the fee structure, the National Chairman position commands the highest filing fee at GH¢100,000. Aspirants eyeing the General Secretary role will pay GH¢80,000, while the National Organiser position attracts a GH¢70,000 fee. Meanwhile, candidates contesting for National Vice Chairman and Deputy General Secretary are required to pay GH¢60,000 each to complete their filing process.

The approved structure spans a wide spectrum of executive offices down to specialized wing leadership. Aspirants for National Communication Officer will pay GH¢50,000, whereas those running for National Youth Organiser and National Zongo Caucus Coordinator will each fork out GH¢40,000. Candidates for deputy roles including Deputy National Organiser, Deputy National Communication Officer, and Deputy National Youth Organiser are set at GH¢30,000 each, with membership on the National Executive Committee attracting the lowest fee of GH¢10,000.

In a bid to promote inclusion, the party introduced targeted concessions for women and persons with disabilities (PWDs). Under the policy, female aspirants and candidates with disabilities will receive a 50 percent discount on the approved filing fees for all positions, with the exception of the National Women’s Organiser and Deputy National Women’s Organiser roles. Additionally, all contestants across all categories are required to pay a flat GH¢2,000 fee to obtain their official nomination forms.

To streamline the operational workflow and enhance transparency, the NDC has digitized the collection process. The party stipulated that all payments for both nomination forms and filing fees must be processed online via its designated official portal, forms.ghanandc.com, as aspirants prepare to lock in their candidacies.
