WEALTH IS A BIRD: WHY YOU MUST DEFINE YOUR OWN LIFE BEFORE LIFE DEFINES YOU

2 min read

It is not wrong for a young man to be adventurous. To be careless at times, to be naughty, to experiment with life. That is part of growing up.

But there comes a stage in every man's life when you must pause and be intentional. You must intentionally define your vision, your mission, and your purpose. Because whatever decisions you make today are silently categorizing your future - whether you will be poor or successful.

The most dangerous thing in the life of any man is to live inside another man's dream. To act out another man's script, to get drowned in another man's success while burying your own dreams and aspirations. Many young men are busy celebrating and chasing someone else's vision and have forgotten they have their own life to build.

Never look at your present situation and get discouraged because people around you are making it and nothing seems to be working for you. Life is in seasons.

Wealth is a bird. It will fly to wherever it wants and to whomever it wants, no matter how long it is caged. The rich people you see today will not forever remain at the top, because wealth changes hands.

As a kid growing up in Hohoe, I have seen very rich and successful families become average. I have also seen children of very poor and struggling families rise to become rich, wealthy, and powerful. That is the mystery of life - wealth changes hands.

So what should you do?

1.  Define your Vision: Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Be clear.
2.  Define your Mission: What must you do daily to get there? Be disciplined.
3.  Define your Purpose: Why must you succeed? Let it be bigger than money.

And in all you do, put God first, and everything you set your mind to do will prosper.
