New DVLA Ultra Centre Opens in Anfoega to Drive Economic Growth and Modernize Public Services in North Dayi

2 min read

The North Dayi District has achieved a major development milestone following the official commissioning of a state-of-the-art Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) Ultra Centre in Anfoega. Designed to deliver efficient, top-notch public services, the modern facility provides streamlined vehicle registration, driver licensing, and related administrative support. The launch marks a transformative step forward in decentralizing essential government services and bringing high-quality infrastructure directly to the residents of the Volta Region.

Local leaders have highlighted the center's potential to catalyze broader socio-economic growth across the constituency. Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the District Chief Executive for North Dayi District, Hon. Ernest Adevor, emphasized that the ultra-premium service hub will significantly boost convenience for vehicle owners and commercial transport operators. Urging community members to safeguard and support new development projects, Hon. Adevor noted that local cooperation is vital to sustaining public investments that enhance the community's quality of life.

In a strong push to make these public services accessible to all residents, the Member of Parliament for North Dayi Constituency, Hon. Joycelyn Quarshie, announced a 10% subsidy on service charges for her constituents. Hon. Quarshie reaffirmed her commitment to driving unprecedented progress across the area alongside local governance authorities, pointing to ongoing education and infrastructure projects funded by the GETFund in Vaste, Anfoega, and neighboring traditional areas as evidence of sustained developmental momentum.

Highlighting the operational efficiency of the new facility, Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey, Chief Executive Officer of the DVLA, commended the collaborative leadership that brought the project to fruition. To maximize convenience for patrons and eliminate service bottlenecks, Mr. Kotey revealed plans to introduce 24-hour service operations at the North Dayi Centre. This flexible operational structure is expected to set a high standard for public service delivery and reduce travel times for drivers who previously traveled to distant municipal capitals.

Beyond administrative convenience, the commissioning of the DVLA Ultra Centre is set to deliver tangible economic benefits, including direct job creation, improved local business activity, and expanded access to state infrastructure. By establishing a reliable hub for transport regulation and commercial activity, the new facility lays a firm foundation for long-term growth, signaling a promising new chapter of progress and modern service delivery for the people of North Dayi.
