North Dayi Constituency Hosts Major Eye-Care Medical and Surgical Outreach

2 min read

Residents of the North Dayi Constituency experienced a transformative healthcare initiative through a comprehensive Eye-Care Medical and Surgical Outreach. Presented by Lifetime Wells Vision in collaboration with Friends Eye Centre (Tamale) and spearheaded by the Member of Parliament for North Dayi, Hon. Joycelyn Quashie, the program was designed to bring essential vision care directly to local communities. The multi-day initiative aimed to tackle prevalent eye health challenges by providing accessible medical interventions to those who need them most.

The outreach took place from the 20th to the 22nd of October, 2025, traversing multiple locations throughout the constituency to ensure widespread access. Services ran daily from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. On Monday, October 20th, the medical team set up at the Anfoega Lorry Park, Wusuta Central, and the Vakpo Post Office. The following day, Tuesday, October 21st, care was extended to the Tsoxor Com Centre, Botoku Com Centre, and the Tsrukpe Tota Post Office. Concluding the outreach on Wednesday, October 22nd, teams served residents at the Sabadu Com Centre, Aveme Danyigba Football Park, and the Awate Agame Com Centre.

A wide array of vital medical services was offered entirely free of charge to community members. Attendees benefited from comprehensive free eye screenings to detect various vision impairments and ocular conditions early. Beyond screenings, the outreach provided life-changing free eye surgeries for individuals requiring surgical intervention. To further support immediate visual improvement, the program also distributed free medicated glasses to participants.

This collaborative healthcare effort highlights a strong commitment to improving the well-being and quality of life for the people of North Dayi. By bridging the gap in specialized medical access, Hon. Joycelyn Quashie, Lifetime Wells Vision, and Friends Eye Centre delivered a profound impact on community health. The successful outreach stands as a testament to the power of targeted medical initiatives in restoring sight and empowering residents across the constituency.
