Volta Regional Minister Commissions Seven Key Development Projects in Ho Municipality

2 min read

The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, recently led a delegation to commission and officially hand over seven completed development projects across several communities in the Ho Municipality. He was joined by the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Richmond Edem Kofi Kpotosu, alongside the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Stephen Adom. The joint effort highlights the government's continued commitment to delivering essential socio-economic amenities directly to local populations.

The newly completed initiatives cut across the health and education sectors, addressing long-standing infrastructural needs within the beneficiary townships. Among the healthcare developments are two brand-new CHPS Compounds constructed at Takla Atiyinu and Ziavi Bamefedo, designed to enhance primary healthcare delivery. Additionally, to support medical personnel stationed in rural posts, modern Two-Unit Nurses’ Quarters were commissioned at Tokokoe and Matse to provide comfortable accommodation for healthcare workers.

Educational infrastructure also received a significant upgrade through the construction of several fully equipped school blocks. A Three-Unit Classroom Block with ancillary facilities was handed over at Hodzo Alavanyo, while a larger Six-Unit Classroom Block with ancillary facilities was inaugurated at Nyive. Furthermore, the community of Shia benefited from a newly built Two-Unit Classroom Block, expanding local capacity to provide accessible, quality education to young learners.

Speaking during the commissioning series, Hon. James Gunu emphasized that these developments represent critical investments aimed at narrowing the infrastructural gap in healthcare and basic education. Beyond serving community members, the facilities are structured to improve the working conditions of frontline health and education professionals. The Minister expressed great satisfaction at the overwhelming enthusiasm displayed by chiefs, elders, and residents as each facility was formally handed over for public use.

Concluding the event, the Regional Minister extended sincere gratitude to the traditional authorities, institutional heads, sector officials, Assembly Members, and all local stakeholders who gathered to support the ceremonies. He reiterated that strong collaboration between government representatives and local communities remains essential for sustaining progress and driving future development initiatives across the Ho Municipality.
