The Minister for Foreign Affairs paid a working visit to the Legon Centre for International Affairs and Diplomacy (LECIAD) at the University of Ghana to review ties and expand bilateral cooperation.
Founded in 1989 through an initiative by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, LECIAD operates as a world-class institute dedicated to training the majority of Ghana's diplomats and international relations experts.
The visit offered both institutions an opportunity to deepen collaboration, review current ties, and integrate new academic research into foreign policy. Discussions focused on bolstering intellectual synergy in areas where Ghana plays a prominent global role, including:
Reparatory Justice & Global Reforms, Peace, Security & Governance and Health Sovereignty.
To ensure long-term impact, Hon. Okudzeto announced the establishment of a joint committee composed of senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and LECIAD. The team is tasked with formulating key recommendations to guide the future strategic orientation of their partnership.
