The Management of the Ketu North Municipal Assembly has forcefully debunked what it describes as false, baseless, unfounded, and malicious allegations made by one Mr. Faith Tagborlo Zyubar. In an official press release dated 2nd November 2026, signed by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Rev. Martin Amenaki, the local authority addressed rumors circulating in the media, specifically statements aired on Revival FM at Tadzewu. The Assembly emphasized that the accusations are completely detached from facts and lack any supporting evidence.
The controversy stems from claims made by Mr. Zyubar, who alleged that the Government allocated over Three Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢300,000.00) to the Assembly specifically for fuel and operations of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) machines. According to his claims, despite receiving these funds for road reshaping, the Assembly was unfairly tasking local communities to provide fuel for the machinery. Additionally, Mr. Zyubar accused the Assembly of issuing fake General Counterfoil Receipts (GCRs) to collect cattle "exportation fees," alleging that these revenue proceeds ended up in private pockets rather than public coffers.
In response, the Municipal Assembly stated categorically and unequivocally that no such funds have been received for fueling the DRIP equipment. Clarifying the status of the machinery, the Assembly explained that it has not received any operational or fuel funding for the DRIP machines since 2025. It further highlighted that while the DRIP equipment remains a crucial public asset deployed to improve road infrastructure and enhance mobility for residents, its ongoing operations strictly depend on the Assembly's available resources, contradicting the narrative presented by Mr. Zyubar.
Addressing the accusations of financial malfeasance, the Assembly firmly denied any involvement in the issuance of fake GCRs or any scheme designed to collect cattle exportation fees for personal gain. Management reiterated that all revenue collection processes within the municipality strictly adhere to established statutory guidelines and transparent accounting standards. The Assembly made it clear that it does not condone, protect, or participate in any revenue diversion or illegal practices.
Concluding the statement, the Ketu North Municipal Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, and good governance. Hon. Rev. Martin Amenaki assured the public that the Assembly remains focused on serving the people of Ketu North and will not tolerate deliberate attempts to misinform the public or tarnish the reputation of the institution and its officers.
