In a heartwarming gesture to celebrate the birthday of its Founder, Mr. Enoch Agbamor, locally based charitable organization Smile Afrik Foundation has presented a generous assortment of items to the Good Samaritan Home in Adidome, located in the Volta Region. The donated items included vital daily supplies such as bags of rice, gari, cooking oil, toiletries, bottled water, detergents, and assorted drinks to help support the wellbeing and upkeep of the children.
Receiving the items on behalf of the institution, the principal of the school, Rev. Father Martin, expressed deep gratitude to Mr. Agbamor and the foundation for their kindness. He emphasized that the Good Samaritan Home, which provides dedicated care and education for children with mental disabilities, relies almost entirely on the charity and support of the general public to keep its doors open and sustain its daily operations.
Calling on individuals and institutions to emulate Smile Afrik Foundation's generosity, Rev. Father Martin urged society to rally behind the vulnerable home. He also addressed longstanding cultural stigmas, advising the public to abandon the misconception that children born with mental disabilities are demonic or possessed by evil spirits. He emphasized that mental health conditions in children are purely scientific and medical, calling for greater empathy, understanding, and community support.
