The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, along with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), has officially decorated twenty-two (22) senior officers following their elevation from Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP). The colorful ceremony, held at the Police Headquarters, brought together top operational commanders, family members, and distinguished guests to celebrate the executive advancement of the senior officers.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Inspector-General of Police commended the newly decorated officers for their dedicated service, discipline, and commitment to upholding law and order across the country. He emphasized that their promotion reflects the high trust reposed in them by the administration and the state, while reminding them that higher rank inherently carries greater operational responsibility and leadership obligations in safeguarding public safety.
In their new capacity as Deputy Commissioners, the officers are expected to drive ongoing strategic initiatives aimed at modernizing police service delivery, combating emerging internal security threats, and strengthening community-oriented policing throughout their respective command jurisdictions. POMAB leadership urged the newly decorated executive group to maintain integrity, foster mentorship among junior personnel, and uphold the core values of the Police Service.
On behalf of the newly promoted officers, representatives expressed deep appreciation to the Police Management Board and the government for recognizing their hard work. They reaffirmed their unalloyed dedication to duty, promising to execute their command roles with professional diligence and support the leadership in achieving its strategic objectives for national security.
