The Parliamentary Select Committee on Energy has undertaken a working visit to the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST) as part of efforts to assess Ghana’s preparedness in the face of global energy uncertainties.
The visit forms part of the Committee’s oversight responsibility to ensure that key institutions within the energy sector are operating efficiently and are well-positioned to respond to potential disruptions.
Speaking to the media after touring the BOST facilities, the Chairman of the Committee and Member of Parliament for Ho West, Emmanuel Bedzrah, noted that the exercise was primarily aimed at evaluating the country’s readiness to withstand global energy challenges.
He stressed that such engagements are crucial in understanding the operational capacity of strategic institutions and identifying areas that require improvement.
Hon. Bedzrah further emphasized the critical role BOST plays in safeguarding Ghana’s energy security, particularly through the storage and distribution of petroleum products across the country.
He reiterated the Committee’s commitment to supporting policies and initiatives that will strengthen the sector, ensuring a stable and reliable energy supply for national development.
