The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) launched an induction cadre on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, for newly appointed Defence Attachés, Deputy Defence Attachés, and Supporting Staff. Held at the Department of Defence Intelligence (DDI) inside Burma Camp, the four-week training program is designed to prepare officers to advance Ghana’s strategic interests, security, and diplomatic goals on the international stage.
Addressing the participants, the Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI), Major General Stephen Woaseadzikpo Kweku Parbey, highlighted the need for high standards of integrity, objectivity, and professionalism in their foreign assignments. He urged the officers to build strong, reliable networks within their host countries, gain a firm grasp of local security landscapes, and submit accurate, timely intelligence to guide national policy decisions back home.
Major General Parbey also charged the cohort to proactively explore avenues for bilateral defense collaboration, technological exchange, and institutional development that strengthen Ghana’s defense posture emphasizing that all military diplomatic activities must remain strictly aligned with official protocols and policy directives.
In his opening address, the CDI commended the participants on their prestigious appointments, expressing confidence that the intensive cadre would fully prepare them to safeguard Ghana's interests abroad before formally declaring the program open.
