The Volta Regional Co-ordinating Council (VRCC), alongside the Ho Municipal Assembly, recently organized a joint sanitation exercise in Ho to help maintain the regional capital's reputation as Ghana's "Oxygen City."
Led by the Regional Environmental Health Department, the initiative mobilized staff from the VRCC and local community stakeholders to clean the Residency grounds and surrounding neighborhoods. Participants cleared overgrown weeds, swept public areas, and properly disposed of litter to improve the local environment.
The exercise underscored the importance of shared responsibility in community health. Organizers emphasized that keeping the city clean requires active involvement from residents and organizations, rather than relying solely on local government services.
Both the VRCC and the Ho Municipal Assembly reaffirmed their ongoing commitment to upgrading public sanitation and keeping Ho green and healthy. Special recognition goes to the Ho Municipal Assembly for their leadership and effort in promoting a cleaner environment.
