Volta Regional Minister Joins North Dayi MP Hon. Joycelyn Quarshie Tetteh as She Breaks Ground for a 2-Storey Girls Dormitory Block

Volta Regional Minister Hon. James Gunu on Monday joined North Dayi Member of Parliament Hon. Joycelyn Quarshie Tetteh at the official sod-cutting ceremony for a two-storey girls’ dormitory block at Anfoega Senior High School (ANFOESEC). The event formed part of a broader package of six major educational infrastructure projects across the North Dayi Constituency, aimed at expanding access to quality learning facilities for students in the area.

The projects include an 18-unit classroom block and a two-storey boys’ dormitory at Vakpo Senior High School, the two-storey girls’ dormitory at Anfoega SHS, and three-unit classroom blocks at Aveti Denui D/A JHS, Tsrukpe Zanukofe D/A JHS, and Boloku Bradatornu D/A JHS. Hon. Adevor Ernest, the Municipal Chief Executive for North Dayi, was also present as stakeholders marked the start of construction under the government’s ongoing investment in education.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Joycelyn Quarshie Tetteh reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring every child in the constituency has access to better learning environments. She described the projects as important investments in the future of North Dayi’s students and communities, stressing that education remains central to building a stronger constituency.

The Regional Minister’s presence underscored the collaborative effort between national, regional, and local leadership to address longstanding infrastructure gaps in Volta Region schools. The new girls’ dormitory at Anfoega SHS is expected to ease accommodation challenges for female students and support improved academic outcomes once completed.
