Volta Regional Minister, Hon. The minister engaged directly with residents, listening to their concerns and witnessing firsthand the challenges posed by the disaster. This on-the-ground assessment forms part of a broader effort to understand the full extent of damage to homes, farmlands, and infrastructure in the area.

Accompanying the Regional Minister were the Volta Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Mr. Pascal Agbagba, and the South Tongu District Chief Executive, Hon. Victoria Dzeklo. The high-level delegation continued its comprehensive assessment of the flooding situation, identifying immediate needs and prioritising areas requiring urgent intervention. Their collaborative presence underscored the coordinated response between regional and district authorities in addressing the crisis.

During the visit, the team interacted extensively with affected residents, gathering valuable insights into the human impact of the floods. These engagements are expected to inform targeted relief measures and long-term recovery strategies tailored to the specific needs of the communities. The minister’s direct involvement highlights the government’s proactive approach to disaster management in the Volta Region.

The Volta Regional Minister reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to supporting the affected communities. “Government remains committed to supporting affected communities, and together, we will continue working to protect lives, restore livelihoods, and build greater resilience against future disasters,” Hon. James Gunu stated. Authorities are working diligently to deliver relief, rehabilitate damaged areas, and implement sustainable measures to mitigate the effects of future flooding events.
