The Minister for Roads and Highways and MP for Adaklu Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza on his routine visit to access the state and conditions of road works on the Wenchi-Sawla stretch, engaged in a heated exchange with the Chinese Polychanda contractor.
Things erupted after Minister Agbodza tries questioning why the road works are not making any significant progress, most importantly why there are no active works ongoing while there is a need to. He made his remarks by asking few questions and asking the Polychanda to give explanations.
One of the Chinese nationals who attempted to give answers to the minister’s questions stated:
"There is problem with money...we run out of money and so work has stop"
The response did not go well with Hon. Agbodza where he obstructed and asked; "who told you there is a problem with money?...has your boss told you there's a problem with money? Your boss let us know that you are competent and capable of doing your work...So where from the money issue?"
Hon. Agbodza further asked the contractors if he could assist him to solve the financial problems by sacking him and termination the contract.
"Can I help you with some of your financial problems by sacking you now, so you don’t have further financial problems?" Hon. Agbodza questions.
