President John Dramani Mahama’s job approval rating has climbed to 71%, according to the June 2026 National Tracking Poll by Global InfoAnalytics. This represents a four-percentage-point increase from 67% in March 2026 and marks the highest rating recorded for any Ghanaian president in the firm’s polls since 2020.
The survey, which polled over 8,700 registered voters across all 16 regions, highlights growing public confidence in the president’s performance amid improvements in economic stability and living standards.
Support remains strongest in traditional NDC strongholds, such as the Savannah Region at 86%, while even 37% of NPP sympathizers expressed approval. Respondents cited optimism around corruption management and reduced power outages as key factors contributing to the positive sentiment, even as jobs and the economy remain top concerns for citizens.
On the diplomatic front, President Mahama continues to engage actively on the international stage. Recently, he presided over the 48th Ceremonial Changing of the Guard Parade at the Presidency, where the Ghana Navy took over security duties from the Ghana Army for the next quarter. He also received letters of credence from several non-resident envoys, reinforcing Ghana’s global partnerships.
The latest developments come as the government pushes economic recovery initiatives, including diversification efforts and strengthened regional ties. Analysts note that sustained delivery on key promises could further solidify public support as Mahama’s administration approaches the midway mark of its term.
