Tema Police have recovered 866 parcels containing a white powdered substance believed to be cocaine. The packages were hidden inside sacks of gari.
The interception resulted from an intelligence-driven operation carried out by officers around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, 5 August 2026.
Three people; a Dutch national and two Ghanaians were arrested in connection with the consignment.
According to sources familiar with the operation who spoke to Graphic Online’s Benjamin Xornam Glover, the suspects were detained while overseeing a group of men loading sacks of gari and konkonte into a 40-foot export container at a warehouse in the Tema Port area.
The three suspects, the truck and the seized parcels remain in police custody pending further investigations.
