The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, in collaboration with the District Chief Executive, Victoria Yawa Doe, has officially commissioned a newly constructed 8-unit teachers’ bungalow at Aveyime Battor Secondary Technical School.
The commissioning ceremony, held on the school’s premises, marks a significant milestone in efforts to improve educational infrastructure within the district. The facility is expected to provide comfortable accommodation for teachers, thereby enhancing staff retention and improving academic delivery at the institution.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Ablakwa emphasized the importance of investing in the welfare of teachers as a key strategy for improving the quality of education. He noted that adequate housing remains a major challenge for many educators, particularly in rural and peri-urban communities. According to him, the completion of the bungalow reflects a commitment to creating a supportive environment where teachers can focus on their core mandate of imparting knowledge.

Hon. Victoria Yawa Doe, on her part, commended the collaborative efforts that made the project possible. She highlighted that the provision of such facilities not only boosts teacher morale but also strengthens the overall educational system in the district. She further assured residents that the assembly remains dedicated to initiating more development projects that directly impact livelihoods.
School authorities and community members expressed their gratitude for the intervention, describing it as timely and impactful. The head of ABAST indicated that the new accommodation will significantly reduce the burden on teachers who previously had to commute long distances or struggle to find suitable housing.
The commissioning of the 8-unit bungalow underscores the ongoing commitment of the North Tongu leadership to advancing education through strategic infrastructure development. It also serves as a model for how targeted investments in teacher welfare can contribute to long-term educational excellence.
