The Member of Parliament for Keta Constituency, Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey, has extended support to students and management of Anlo Afiadenyigba Senior High School following a devastating fire outbreak that destroyed the boys’ dormitory of the school. The unfortunate incident reportedly left several students displaced and destroyed personal belongings, learning materials, mattresses, uniforms, and other valuables.
During a visit to the school, Hon. Gakpey expressed sympathy to the affected students and assured them of his commitment to supporting the school in difficult times. He described the incident as heartbreaking and called on stakeholders, old students, philanthropists, and corporate organizations to come together to support the school and help restore normalcy on campus.
As part of his intervention, the Keta MP donated assorted relief items to assist the affected students. The items included mattresses, toiletries, food supplies, buckets, and other essential materials aimed at easing the burden on the students and school authorities after the destruction caused by the fire. School authorities and students expressed gratitude to the MP for his timely intervention and concern for their welfare.
Hon. Gakpey further urged the students to remain calm and focused on their academic work despite the unfortunate setback. The gesture has been widely praised by residents and education stakeholders, who see it as a demonstration of leadership and commitment to the wellbeing of students in the constituency.
