As Mawuli School marks its 75th anniversary, alumnus and Member of Parliament, Hon. Rockson-Nelson Etse Kwami Dafeamekpor, joined fellow past and present students on the celebration grounds to reflect on the institution's rich heritage and enduring impact. Reliving his high school days, the lawmaker warmly shared fond memories of his time on campus, paying special tribute to the defining lessons in leadership, discipline, and community spirit he gained during his secondary school education.
Among his cherished experiences, Hon. Dafeamekpor highlighted his tenure as the Dining Hall Prefect, a role that placed him directly at the heart of daily student life. Managing meal distribution and maintaining order among hundreds of hungry students was no small task, yet he recalled the role with immense gratitude and pride. He noted that balancing firmness with fairness in the dining hall served as his first real test in public administration, instilling early values of service, accountability, and time management.
Addressing the gathered students, staff, and alumni, the MP underscored how Mawuli School's holistic approach to education shaped his personal trajectory and career in public service. He praised the school for consistently fostering an environment where leadership potential is recognized and nurtured early. He urged current students to embrace leadership opportunities, no matter how daunting, as these responsibilities build the resilience and integrity required for future civic contributions.
The 75th-anniversary celebrations served as both a milestone and a reunion, bringing together generations of "VOLTARS" to honor the legacy of the prestigious institution. Hon. Dafeamekpor reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Mawuli School's growth, encouraging all old students to continuously give back. As the festivities continue, his reflections stand as a powerful reminder of how the school's leadership traditions continue to produce leaders dedicated to national development.
