The Central Tongu Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Alexander Roosevelt Hottordze, led the Parliamentary Select Committee on Trade, Industry and Tourism on a high-level working visit to the Ghana Export-Import Bank (Ghana EximBank) on October 28th. Executed as part of the Committee’s constitutional oversight mandate, the exercise was aimed at gaining direct insight into the financial institution's core operational activities and strategic direction.

During the visit, the parliamentary delegation engaged in detailed briefings with the executive management of the Bank. The session allowed committee members to thoroughly familiarize themselves with Ghana EximBank’s ongoing projects, key financing programs, and its broader role in driving non-traditional exports and supporting domestic industrial capacity.

A central focus of the engagement was identifying the strategic and operational hurdles currently confronting the institution. Through open dialogue, Hon. Hottordze and the Committee explored key structural challenges, assessing actionable areas where parliamentary intervention, policy support, and legislative collaboration can help optimize the Bank’s capacity to fulfill its statutory mandate.

Reaffirming their pledge to national progress, Hon. Alexander Roosevelt Hottordze and the Committee on Trade, Industry and Tourism emphasized their steadfast commitment to fortifying state institutions. By continuing to promote targeted industrial policies and championing strategic financing, the Committee aims to accelerate sustainable growth across Ghana's trade, industry, and tourism sectors.
