Heroic Reward : IGP Decorates Newly Promoted Police Officer Who Saved Lives in Aboso Fire

​The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, today hosted Inspector Hance Atubra at the National Police Headquarters in Accra to officially decorate him with the rank of Chief Inspector.

The officer, attached to the Tarkwa Divisional Headquarters, was granted a special promotion following his heroic efforts during a fire outbreak at Aboso in the Western Region on August 26, 2026.Chief Inspector Atubra demonstrated swift action and bravery, saving lives and safeguarding property during the inferno.

​Praising his dedication, IGP Yohuno highlighted the officer’s courage and quick response, describing his actions as a standard of the professionalism and selflessness expected across the Ghana Police Service.
