GNFS Crews Swiftly Contain Domestic Fire at Ofankor Near Roland Hotel

No Injuries or Fatalities Recorded as Fire Destroys Wooden Structures

Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) Amasaman and Madina Fire Stations responded promptly to a domestic fire outbreak at Ofankor near Roland Hotel on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

The GNFS teams launched a coordinated operation and successfully extinguished the blaze, preventing it from spreading to adjacent buildings and structures in the area. Their swift intervention limited the damage to the affected property.

According to the GNFS, the fire completely destroyed some wooden structures and their contents. However, no injuries or fatalities were recorded during the incident.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the relevant authorities. In a statement, the Public Relations Officer of the Greater Accra Region urged residents to remain vigilant about fire safety practices.

“ The GNFS encourages the public to observe all fire safety measures in their homes and workplaces and to report any emergencies promptly to the nearest fire station,” the PRO said.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire prevention, especially in residential areas with wooden structures. The Ghana National Fire Service continues to work tirelessly to protect lives and property across the region.
