The Director-General of the Ghana Prisons Service, Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie (Esq.), was present at the 3rd Ghana Horticultural Expo 2026 held in Accra. During the event, the Service presented a diverse display of agricultural products harvested directly from various correctional centers across the country.
The exhibition highlighted how farming activities within correctional institutions serve as a vital tool for inmate rehabilitation, practical skills training, and successful community reintegration.
Representing the President at the event, the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry and Member of Parliament for Techiman North Constituency, Hon. Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, urged key stakeholders to boost local farming output, expand agricultural processing, and strengthen the market competitiveness of Ghanaian products both at home and abroad.
The active involvement of the Ghana Prisons Service underscores its ongoing focus on using agricultural initiatives to rehabilitate inmates and empower them with valuable skills for long-term self-reliance.
