GES To Recruit Next Badge of 8,000 Teacher From The 2023 Teacher Trainee Graduates - Education Minister

The Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, has announced that the Ghana Education Service will recruit only the graduation cohorts from Colleges of Education of the 2023 badge. He further noted that GES will reopen its recruitment portal on 15th November 2026 to recruit an additional 8,000 teachers.

Hon. Haruna speaking at the 68th Anniversary Speech and Prize-Giving Day celebration of Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary (POJOSS) in Koforidua in the Eastern Region, made his announcement clear. These are profound measures the ministry is putting in place to eradicate unemployment in the country. 

According to him, the ongoing recruitment exercise, which saw 7,000 teachers shortlisted through what he described as a merit-based, open, and transparent process, will be completed by the end of August.

The Education Ministry is paving a way forward to solve the longstanding unemployment issues and making sure teachers are deployed to all breadth and width of Ghana.
