Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) successfully controlled two separate fire outbreaks in the Greater Accra Region on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, preventing extensive damage to adjacent property.
The first incident occurred at Teshie Fertilizer, where a crew from the Trade Fair Fire Station responded rapidly to a residential fire. They managed to suppress the blaze within minutes, restricting property loss to a 16 kVA solar inverter.
Later that day, the Circle Fire Station responded to a commercial fire involving metal containers at Kotobabi Down. Although five containers were entirely lost to the flames, firefighters protected two neighboring containers from burning.
Neither incident resulted in casualties or injuries. GNFS officials have launched investigations to identify the causes of both fires.
