Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, the Minister for Energy and Green Transition and Member of Parliament for Yapei-Kusawgu, will soon launch the "Big Push" Rural Electrification Programme in Ho. This special project, spearheaded by President Mahama, aims to expand access to the national electricity grid across underserved populations.
In this upcoming phase, over 200 communities in the Volta Region are slated for grid connection within six months, bringing reliable power to areas that have long lacked access.
Having actively guided the initiative through its planning stages, Dr. Jinapor brings deep technical oversight to ensure every targeted community secures dependable power over the next few years. The rollout marks a significant step toward the administration's goal of achieving full national electrification.
Key areas set to benefit from this expansion include:
Ketu South
Ketu North
South Tongu
North Tongu
Central Tongu
Anlo
...along with several other constituencies across the region.
