The Commander of the 15 Armoured Brigade, Brigadier General Ebenezer Mark Alo, paid his maiden operational visit to the 155 Armoured Regiment stationed at Damongo. The familiarisation tour, conducted on Tuesday, 6 October 2026, formed part of the Brigade Commander's broader engagement strategy to assess the operational posture, administrative state, and overall welfare of personnel across units under his command.
Upon his arrival, Brigadier General Alo was received by the Commanding Officer of the 155 Armoured Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Peter Afreh. The Commanding Officer provided a comprehensive briefing detailing the unit's ongoing operational activities, tactical readiness, and key infrastructural initiatives undertaken within the camp. The presentation also highlighted existing logistical and operational challenges facing the regiment in its area of responsibility.
During an interactive session with officers and soldiers of the unit, Brigadier General Alo stressed the imperative of maintaining high standards of military discipline and professionalism at all times. He specifically reminded personnel to adhere strictly to the Ghana Armed Forces Social Media Policy, cautioning against the unauthorized or unseemly sharing of military material online. Additionally, the Commander issued a strong warning against drug abuse and illicit substance use, emphasizing that such behavior compromises operational security and troop readiness.
Concluding his tour, Brigadier General Alo commended the leadership and personnel of the 155 Armoured Regiment for their dedication to duty and proactive camp improvement projects. He reaffirmed the Brigade Headquarters' commitment to supporting the unit in overcoming its operational hurdles while urging the troops to sustain their vigilance and high morale in service to the nation.
