Anloga DCE Inspects GIFEC Telecom Tower Sites, Calls for Faster Rollout

Hon. Samdra Seyram Kpedor, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Anloga District, together with her technical team, hosted Dr. Francis Seglah, the Regional Director of GIFEC, for a comprehensive inspection of telecommunications infrastructure projects in the area. The high-level visit focused on advancing digital connectivity initiatives aimed at bridging the network gap across the district. This collaborative engagement underscores the district assembly’s commitment to leveraging GIFEC’s support for improved communication services that will benefit residents, businesses, and local development.

The delegation inspected the proposed site for the installation of a new GIFEC-powered telecommunications mono tower at Anloga Atihepe. Officials examined the location’s suitability and discussed technical requirements for the upcoming project. The new tower is expected to significantly boost signal strength and reliability in the surrounding communities once completed.

In addition to the Atihepe site, the team visited existing towers at Latame and Agortoe to assess their current operational status. The on-site evaluations allowed both the district leadership and the GIFEC regional director to identify challenges and opportunities for optimization. These assessments form part of ongoing efforts to ensure all installed infrastructure functions at optimal capacity.

Hon. Kpedor appealed to Dr. Seglah to expedite ongoing works on the towers to rapidly enhance telecommunications connectivity throughout Anloga District. She emphasized the importance of timely completion to support socio-economic activities that depend on stable network services. The DCE also urged consideration for extending network coverage to underserved communities currently experiencing poor reception.

The visit reflects a strong partnership between the Anloga District Assembly and GIFEC in driving Ghana’s digital inclusion agenda. Stakeholders anticipate that accelerated implementation of these projects will foster greater access to information, mobile services, and opportunities for growth in the district.
