Fourteen individuals have been taken into custody by the Upper East Regional Police Command following an operation targeting the cultivation and distribution of illegal drugs in Daliga, located within the Nabdam District.
The suspects identified as Alex Nyaaba, Charles Keleg Dombil, Zimi Pandam, Jennifer Ziini, Tobirr Naab, Yinteng James, Tosil Wandabil, Sandanane Peehim, Borimi Nohoo, Curim Teng, Curim Kugri, Nohou Dagobila, and Abane Zangbeog were apprehended on August 16, 2026. The operation was carried out jointly by the Police Intelligence Directorate (PID) and the newly established Black Cobra Team.
During the raid, officers uncovered a significant quantity of suspected narcotics hidden inside sacks of maize and millet. Initial findings reveal that the cannabis was grown alongside regular grain crops in an attempt to camouflage the farm and avoid detection by law enforcement.
All fourteen suspects remain in police custody while investigations continue, and they are expected to be formally processed for court proceedings soon.
