Ghana’s Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has advocated for stronger continental unity, improved regional connectivity, and greater economic self-reliance across Africa.

Addressing attendees at a memorial lecture in Accra to mark the 117th anniversary of Ghana’s founding President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the Minister encouraged Africans to re-engage with Nkrumah’s founding vision. She highlighted education, industrial expansion, technological innovation, and cultural development as essential pillars for building an economically sovereign continent.

The lecture also honored the lasting legacies of Pan-African champions W.E.B. Du Bois, George Padmore, and Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Guest speakers underscored how their core principles centered on human dignity, liberation, African solidarity, and economic independence remain vital to addressing contemporary challenges.

Organized by the Director of the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Dr. Collins Rawlings Nunyomah, the gathering drew a wide audience of policymakers, academics, creative industry leaders, political figures, and tourism professionals.
