The Member of Parliament for Ketu South and Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has presented 2,000 bags of fertilizer to smallholder farmers and selected farmer-based organizations across the municipality. The presentation ceremony took place on Friday, 18 September 2026, at the Ketu South Municipal Assembly, drawing agricultural stakeholders, community leaders, and local beneficiaries from throughout the constituency.
The intervention addresses a critical need in the district, where rising input costs have continuously challenged local farm yields and household incomes. By making essential nutrients directly accessible to local growers, the initiative aims to significantly reduce overhead costs for farmers, strengthen soil fertility, and improve overall crop production across the municipality's major agricultural zones.
Speaking on the initiative, Hon. Gomashie emphasized her commitment to empowering local livelihoods and safeguarding regional food security. Benefitting farmers expressed deep gratitude for the timely support, noting that the distributed fertilizers will play a key role in maximizing crop yields for the current farming season and stabilizing the local rural economy.
