The Central East Regional Police Command has taken two individuals into custody in connection with an alleged illicit drug trafficking operation. The operation highlights ongoing efforts by regional security forces to curb the movement and sale of illegal substances across major transit corridors in the area.
According to Central East Regional Police Commander DCOP Francis Nchor, the arrest occurred in the early hours of September 20, 2026. Officers stationed at the Kasoa High Tension snap checkpoint intercepted a Voxy minibus around 2:30 AM during a routine security search, leading to the immediate discovery of suspected narcotic substances in possession of one of the suspects.
In addition to the physical narcotics intercepted, law enforcement retrieved evidence including wrapped packages, loose dried leaves, liquid bottles, and digital weighing scales typically used for measuring illicit drugs. Both suspects remain in police custody while investigations continue, and authorities are preparing to process them for prosecution in court.
