The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) officially commissioned a new standard fire station at Sekyedumase, located within the Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipality, on Friday, September 25, 2026.
The project, spearheaded by the Ejura Fire Station led by Division Officer Grade II (DO II) King Glalah and the Sekyedumase Traditional Council, was completed under the direct supervision of the Ashanti Regional Fire Officer, Assistant Chief Fire Officer Grade I (ACFO I) Petter Tetteh.
The commissioning ceremony brought together key stakeholders, including ACFO I Tetteh, Mampong Municipal Fire Officer DO II Sule, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ejura-Sekyedumase, and representatives from the local media. Members of the Sekyedumase Traditional Council were also present, led by Nana Antwi Bosiako, the Sekyedumasehene.
Conceived by the Traditional Council, the new facility aims to improve emergency response times and make fire safety services more accessible to local residents. To further support operations, both the Traditional Council and the MCE committed to securing a dedicated fire engine, two operational motorbikes, office furniture, and a mechanized borehole to strengthen fire prevention and public education initiatives in the municipality.
