2 min read

The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season got off to a flying start with some stunning results on Matchday One.

As a platform dedicated to projecting talents from the Volta Region to the world, we tracked all Volta players to see how they fared for their respective clubs.

The standout name on the lips of Voltarians is Setsoafia Aqetey.

The youngster put up a Man of the Match performance on Saturday, scoring two goals to inspire Vision FC to a dominant 3-0 victory over Young Apostles.

In the same game, fellow Voltarian Godwin Ametepe manned the post for Vision FC and kept a clean sheet.

Elsewhere, new Hearts of Oak signing Prince Amevor was not included in the matchday squad, but the Phobians still cruised to a 4-0 win over Berekum Chelsea.

It was a different story for Sena Ati, who recently joined Heart of Lions on deadline day.

He was handed a starting role and impressed as Lions held Aduana Stars to a 0-0 draw at Kpando.

At the Nsenkyere Sports Arena, Ebenezer Armegah came on as a substitute for Karela United.

His teammates Angel Ewula did not get any minutes while Godfred Ahiable failed to make the matchday squad as Karela lost 3-1 away to FC Samartex.

Kwame Larbi Henaku played the full 90 minutes for newcomers Debibi United FC as they held giants Asante Kotoko to a pulsating 2-2 draw.

Nicholas Amekpewu could not make the Bibiani Gold Stars squad as they suffered a 1-0 defeat away to Bechem United.

At Swedru, Mensah Agblegbe Malise was an unused substitute for Swedru All Blacks in their 1-0 loss to Basake Holy Stars, while Lawrence Gadeseh came on in the 91st minute for Holy Stars to help see out the win.
