The Agotime-Ziope District has officially entered a new era of grassroots football development following the grand launch and commencement of the maiden edition of the District Division Three League. The opening ceremony, held yesterday at the Ziope DA JHS Park, brought together football administrators, local leaders, and enthusiastic fans to witness a historic milestone for sports in the constituency.
The colorful ceremony was graced by the Member of Parliament for the Agotime-Ziope Constituency, Hon. Charles Agbeve, who officially launched the league. His presence underscored the vital link between community development and youth empowerment through sports. The event was expertly supervised by the Chairman of the District Football Association (DFA), Mr. Kingsley Dzidzor Afetorgbor, alongside his dedicated executive team, setting an organized and promising tone for the competition.
In his keynote address, Hon. Agbeve expressed his profound commitment to nurturing local talent, offering his full blessings and financial support for the entire duration of the league and the DFA. To stoke the competitive fire among the participating clubs, the Member of Parliament made a thrilling announcement, promising a special incentive package for any team that successfully secures promotion from the district to Division Two.
The maiden league features ten competitive clubs divided evenly into two zones: the Kpetoe Zone and the Ziope Zone. As the matches get underway across the district, the fierce battle for supremacy will see the top teams from each zone advance to a decisive middle league, bringing local football lovers closer to witnessing the birth of new regional football giants.
