The Member of Parliament for Anlo Constituency has issued a strong call to the youth of the Volta Region to equip themselves with relevant skills in preparation for major development projects expected to transform the area in the coming years.
Speaking during the Volta Regional Minister's briefing at the Keta Lagoon project site, the MP stressed that future opportunities would favour individuals who are adequately prepared. He urged young people to embrace vocational training, entrepreneurship, digital skills, and technical education to position themselves for employment and business prospects that may arise from ongoing and planned investments in the region.
According to the MP, the question that should occupy the minds of residents is, “How prepared are we?” He noted that while government and private sector investments are expected to create jobs and stimulate economic growth, the benefits can only be fully realized if local people possess the skills needed to take advantage of them.
The remarks have sparked renewed conversations about youth empowerment and workforce readiness in the Volta Region. As development initiatives continue to gather momentum, stakeholders believe that investing in human capital will be crucial to ensuring that the region's youth become active participants and beneficiaries of the opportunities ahead.
