New Health Kiosk Commissioned at Mafi Asiekpe to Boost Healthcare Access in Central Tongu

2 min read

Residents of Mafi Asiekpe and surrounding communities in the Central Tongu District no longer have to travel long distances for primary medical attention, following the commissioning of a new health kiosk in the area. The facility, facilitated by the Member of Parliament for Central Tongu, Hon. Alexander Roosevelt Gabby Hottordze, is designed to bring essential public health services directly to the doorstep of locals. It will serve as a vital community hub for preliminary medical care, maternal and child health services, routine health education, and timely referrals for advanced treatment.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Hottordze emphasized that strengthening health infrastructure at the community level remains a top priority for improving local well-being. He highlighted the facility's critical role in ensuring that vulnerable groups—particularly children, pregnant women, nursing mothers, and the elderly—receive prompt medical attention without financial or geographical strain. The MP also urged the people of Mafi Asiekpe to take ownership of the health kiosk by keeping the premises well-maintained and providing maximum support to the healthcare personnel deployed to serve them.

Community leaders and residents expressed deep appreciation for the initiative, describing the health kiosk as a timely and transformative intervention for the area. While welcoming the project as a major step forward, local elders appealed for ongoing support from stakeholders to equip the facility with adequate medical supplies, equipment, and dedicated staff. The project forms part of a broader agenda to enhance social infrastructure and deliver accessible, essential public services across the country.
