Recognizing the critical importance of foundational learning, Hon. Peter Nortsu-Kotoe, MP for Akatsi North, joined District Chief Executive Hon. Bless Kodjo Katamani at Ave-Afiadenyigba Old Town Basic School to officially launch the construction of a new early childhood education center. The ceremonial sod-cutting gathered parents, educators, traditional leaders, and young pupils, all celebrating a targeted investment aimed at giving the district's youngest learners a solid educational start.
The project slated for Ave-Afiadenyigba Old Town Basic School comprises a state-of-the-art, two-unit Kindergarten (KG) classroom block complete with essential ancillary facilities. Designed specifically for early childhood instruction, the new structure will provide a secure, child-friendly, and stimulating atmosphere. It replaces makeshift arrangements, ensuring that young pupils are nurtured in a modern learning space tailored to physical and cognitive development during their formative years.
In his remarks at the venue, Hon. Peter Nortsu-Kotoe underscored that early childhood education lays the indispensable foundation for all future academic achievements. He stated that his office remains deeply committed to eliminating learning hazards for young children across the constituency. By providing purpose-built KG facilities, the MP noted that the district is actively encouraging higher enrollment rates and instilling a positive attitude toward schooling from a very tender age.
The local leadership and parent-teacher association at Ave-Afiadenyigba Old Town expressed sincere appreciation to Hon. Peter Nortsu-Kotoe and local government officials for prioritizing early childhood care. Community representatives promised to exercise active oversight during the construction process to maintain quality standards, while reaffirming their dedication to maintaining the facility once completed and handed over to the community.
