Nukunu FC President, Hon. Edem Agbana, has reaffirmed the club’s commitment to nurturing young football talents in the Volta and Oti Regions following the team’s historic qualification to the Division One League.
The achievement came after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Oti Warriors on Sunday, a result that secured the club’s promotion and marked a significant milestone in its development journey.
Speaking after the match, Hon. Agbana emphasized that the club’s ambitions extend beyond winning games and gaining promotion. According to him, Nukunu FC was established with a broader vision of serving as a platform for talented young footballers to showcase their abilities and pursue their dreams. He stressed that the club is determined to become a springboard for emerging talents across the Volta and Oti Regions.
“We want to become a springboard for young talents in Volta and Oti. We want to give them a platform to show the world what they are capable of. Talent development is key on our agenda,” Agbana stated. He noted that many gifted players in the two regions lack opportunities to gain exposure and compete at higher levels, adding that Nukunu FC intends to bridge that gap through structured player development programmes.
The club’s qualification to Division One is expected to create more opportunities for young footballers while raising the profile of football in the region.
With promotion secured, Nukunu FC now looks ahead to the challenges of Division One, while remaining focused on its long-term objective of developing future stars and contributing to the growth of Ghanaian football.
