Following their historic win at the Inter-District U-17 Championship in Ho, the Ketu South Municipal Football Association has received a financial boost of GHS12,500 from the Member of Parliament for Ketu South Constituency, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie.
The package includes GHS10,000 earmarked for ongoing youth football development initiatives within the municipality, alongside a GHS2,500 cash reward celebrating the team's tournament success.
Ketu South secured their first-ever championship title by clinching a 1-0 win against Nkwanta South District in a competitive final match.
In a speech delivered on her behalf, the MP commended the squad, technical staff, and leadership for their hard work and dedication. She highlighted that the gesture aims to aid the local FA in nurturing grassroots talent, noting how proud the young players have made the entire constituency.
Receiving the funds, the Chairman of the Ketu South Municipal Football Association, Mr. Barson Foli, expressed deep gratitude to Hon. Gomashie and assured that the money would be strictly allocated to its designated purposes.
The four-day tournament was staged by the Volta Regional Football Association to highlight and foster up-and-coming football talent throughout the region.
