Newly promoted Premier League outfit Coventry City has reportedly secured the signature of Caleb Yirenkyi for a club-record fee of €27 million, with an additional €3 million structured in performance-based add-ons.
By making this move, the 20-year-old Ghanaian midfielder links back up with international teammate Brandon Thomas-Asantea partnership that previously bore fruit when the pair combined to score against Panama during the FIFA World Cup.
The transfer also allows Yirenkyi to hone his craft under the guidance of Coventry boss Frank Lampard, widely regarded as one of the finest English midfielders to ever play the game.
