The Director-General of Prisons, Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie, Esq., made an appearance at the Image of a Woman Conference and Book Launch on Saturday, August 22, 2026, hosted at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.
During her address, Mrs. Baffoe-Bonnie urged women to confront societal stereotypes while remaining mindful of the subtle ways they might reinforce these biases themselves.
She also spotlighted the ongoing overhaul within the Ghana Prisons Service. Beyond offering basic vocational instruction, the Service is building a robust rehabilitation and reintegration framework aimed at empowering inmates with practical skills, resources, and guidance for a fresh start.
The event concluded with an inspiring call for women to embrace self-belief, dismantle restrictive norms, and actively drive meaningful progress within their homes, careers, and society.
