Hon Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo (MP,Hohoe Municipal)

Member of Parliament for Hohoe, Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo, spoke on the floor of Parliament about the mid-year budget review. He praised the current administration for creating many jobs for the youth. He said the government’s employment programmes are working well.

Tsekpo noted that state institutions are now able to make profits under this government. He said this was not the case before. He pointed to the Big Push programme as a clear example of success. Many young people are busy working on the roads because of this programme.

The MP stressed that the workers on these projects are Ghanaians. He made it clear that the government did not bring workers from China. He said this shows that local people are getting the jobs.

Tsekpo described the government’s job-driven agenda as something new and strong. He believes the employment instruments of the state are performing better than before. His comments form part of the ongoing discussion on the mid-year budget in Parliament.
