The Nigerian High Commission in Ghana has expressed concerns regarding discrepancies in the Ghana Police Service’s report on a foiled robbery in Labone, Accra.
These concerns emerged after GCB Bank publicly refuted police assertions that its Labone location was among the intended targets, which initially included Ecobank and Zenith Bank.
Additionally, observers have questioned how the alleged plot unfolded given the heightened security in the Labone neighborhood, while raising further doubts about the specific weapon retrieved from the suspects.
In response to the conflicting narratives between law enforcement and the bank, the High Commission dispatched a representative to the Ghana Police Headquarters to request an official clarification on the event.
The ongoing discrepancies between official police statements and corporate denials continue to fuel public uncertainty regarding the actual sequence of events during the operation.
