Hon. Edem Agbana, Member of Parliament for Ketu North Constituency, has taken a significant step toward improving early childhood education infrastructure by releasing GHS125,000 to support an ongoing school project at Kave.
The funds are specifically allocated to cover the full cost of sand and stones required for the construction of a kindergarten (KG) block with ancillary facilities and office spaces for teachers. The project is being undertaken by the international non-profit organisation, Pencils of Promise.
The intervention by Hon. Agbana comes at a crucial stage of the project, ensuring that construction work proceeds without delays caused by material shortages. By fully funding these essential building materials, the MP has demonstrated his commitment to supporting quality education and infrastructure development within his constituency.
The KG block, once completed, is expected to provide a safe and conducive learning environment for young children in Kave and surrounding communities.
The project also includes additional facilities such as offices for teachers, which will enhance administrative efficiency and improve teaching conditions. Education stakeholders in the area have lauded the move, noting that improved infrastructure at the foundational level of education is key to nurturing confident and capable learners.
The involvement of Pencils of Promise further underscores the importance of partnerships in driving sustainable development in underserved communities.
Hon. Agbana’s contribution reflects his broader vision of prioritising education as a tool for community transformation. By investing in early childhood education, he is helping to lay a strong foundation for academic success and long-term development.
Residents of Kave have expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful, while expressing optimism about the positive change the project will bring once completed.
