ECOWAS Donates GHS3million to Support Ghanaian Flood Victims - Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has donated a total sum of US$250,000.00 equivalent to GHS3million Ghanaian cedis through the Foreign Affairs Ministry to support people who have affected by the the recent floods in Ghana.

The recent development have been announced by the Foreign Affairs Minister, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa in a Facebook post stressing that the ECOWAS has significantly eased some burden on the state.

"I wish to announce, in the spirit of transparency and accountability, that the Foreign Ministry has just been notified by ECOWAS that they have decided to donate US$250,000.00 (about GHS3million) to Ghana for victims of the recent devastating floods. As can be expected, the Foreign Ministry will hand over the entire funds as soon as we receive it in our accounts" Minister Ablakwa states.

The Minister headed on to appreciate the kind efforts of the ECOWAS to support Ghana in these difficult times when they needed them most.

"The Government of Ghana conveys boundless appreciation to ECOWAS for their solidarity and true African compassion" he stressed.
