The Director-General of the Ghana Prisons Service, Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie (Esq.), paid an official visit to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) in Accra on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. The visit aimed to establish a strategic partnership and secure technical support for the upcoming launch of Ghana Prisons Television.
Upon her arrival, Mrs. Baffoe-Bonnie was received by the Director-General of GBC, Prof. Amin Alhassan. As part of her visit, she toured key facilities within the broadcasting house, including the main newsroom and production studios. During an interview on site, she outlined the core pillars of the "Think Prisons 360°" initiative which focuses on Prevention, Incarceration, and Reintegration and highlighted how the new television station will support these goals.
In response, Prof. Amin Alhassan expressed GBC's readiness to assist the Ghana Prisons Service in its ongoing reform and rebranding efforts. He assured that GBC is prepared to offer specialized training programs for prison officers in media production and broadcasting techniques to ensure the smooth operation of the new TV channel.
The meeting concluded with both leaders pledging to deepen organizational ties and work together on future broadcasting endeavors.
